San Antonio independent Christian Film Festival

Friday night found the Smith Fam packing and cooking for our departure for the long anticipated event of the second San Antonio independent Christian Film Festival!!! Daddy, Charlie, Katie, Michael, and I attended last year and had a wonderful time! Miss Ivis Lummus and her brother Arthur are to accompany us this year as well as Mama, the girls and the boy's! Miss Ivis and her Daddy and brother arrived around 11pm or so she joined us in the kitchen. Bethy had fried chicken for the trip out and I had made apple pies, banana bread, and two gallons of fresh squeezed lemonade. I made it to bed around 1:30 and awoke at 5. We made breakfast and then two huge bags of sandwiches. Finally at 8:30 we were packed loaded and buckled in the truck. We all bowed our heads in prayer and then Daddy turned the key, nothing happened! We girls sat straining our ears (Miss Ivy, Rachel and I were situated on a huge bed which encompassed the entirety of the bed of the truck) as Daddy attempted several times. Alan jumped up and used his car to start us off. We girls then leaned back and fell asleep. A few hours later we awoke to find ourselves in Alabama hungry and in need of a bit of stretching. We stopped to fuel up and I started my search for the cooler and baskets of food. I searched in vain and to our horror and devastation we found that we had left our dear food in the hallway at home!!!!!!
