Girls with white fondant on nose and eye lashes, roses and leaves made for just jolly poses..
Oh dear, it seems that Sissy has too much time on her hands! Well not really, last night I entered into my kingdom armed with a catalogue and spatula. Mama had found in a 'Southern Living' catalogue a most intriguing idea; edible leaves! I searched through my recipes and found a fondant icing recipe that would fit the job, and started creating white clouds of powdered sugar. An hour later I rolled out my dough and was busy in the task of cutting out various leaves and acorns to paint. Miss Rachie passed by and decided to join me in my amusing attempts. Much to our delight Yuchi babe wondered in and added his usual silliness that kept Rachie and I in stitches. I was then inspired to try the fondant out on what is is usually created for, cakes. As I had not made one and it was nearly supper time; I used the next best thing. LOL. A bowl. Turning it upside down we rolled out enough fondant and then place it perfectly over the vessel. Rachie then succeeded in a lovely rose and with a few leaves for garnish that I created with the help of a knife; viola! A fondant covered bowl in the shape of a hat! LOL. Next I have to figure out how to use my various pans to make a wide brimmed cake! Jolly ho to our next experiment!
