Another Shoot

Last Friday found the Smith household busy preparing for another shoot of the episodes for Daddy's Christian Movie show. The Edwards family from TN arrived and Charlie and Uncle Ed headed off to church to set up the lights. Auntie Kim, and Rachie joined me in the kitchen to finish preparing supper. Afterwards we went to Walmart, and Rachie, Nick and I made a record of 7 minutes flat; in and out! At the church I changed into costume and we started filming. Around 5:30 ish, Miss Katie (my sweet sissy to be ) arrived with her brother Michael jr. and they with Alan departed for a dinner party. The rest of us stayed on shooting until supper time. The recording studio is located upstairs in the back of our large church with a series of doors with locks and key codes in which you must navigate. We wanted to make sure that we could return and since we did not have the presence of Charlie or Dat ( who had the password), Uncle Ed sent me downstairs one way leaving the doors propped open for our return. The plan was to meet in the middle of the church in the foyer and as I ran breathlessly down several flights of stairs and long hallways, I rounded the corner to an empty entry way. So I stood waiting....and waiting......They didn't arrive. I started off in search and all the way upstairs on the other side I found them just outside the studio. "what's wrong y'all?" I asked. A look of chagrin was upon Uncle Ed's face. "Someone locked the door behind them and we can't get back in" We tried all of the doors on this side of the church and then I ran off to check my side. To my relief I found that my side was open all the way and with great joy I reopened their locked door and let them in!

We live but 7 minutes from church so we finally jumped into the car freezing and shivering with the cold, and arrived to the warm and lovely smell of supper in the oven. Mama and Bethy had returned from their shopping trip and we all squeezed around the supper table.
After supper we returned to church where we continued to tape until 12!

Saturday I cooked whilst the rest of the gang including the two Morton's went to finish recording. That evening we went to the Sheats (mamas family) family Christmas party.
