Home Life

Hey y'all! I talked to my sisters yesterday and today and to the Morton girls on the phone!!! Apart from the joy of hearing their voices and tales they imparted to my dismay that they will be another day in Florida. But I know that they are having a blast and I would not have them come back for anything. Oh how they are much missed!!! Mama and I have been sewing, cooking, helping Daddy (who is at lost without all of his arrows :)) chatting about all sorts of things, and trying to catch a mouse who has taken up abode behind our fridge. (naturally much to Mama's displeasure)
Yesterday whilst attempting to input a few surveys from the local chamber, I just happened to go through a series of funny tales that I have enjoyed laughing over (after which of course, they were over) that I thought might bring a chuckle. (I prefer to tell my tales in person though...) I was sitting in the corner of our office typing away at a long and undesirable task of imputing facts from a 4 page survey into a database. I was halfway through when I stumble across a word which I could not decipher (the hand writing was in need of special attention) I scooted across the floor in my handy rolling chair over to Mama, who was busy with paper work. "Hey Mama?" " hmmm...." a slight pause in which she changed her thought process to the problem at hand "yes dear?" 'I was wondering if you could help me with this word" ewproveme
"Is that even English?" "Maybe is Portuguese.." After much studying and discussing we decided that the word must have been improvement. This only being selected upon the context of the sentence which went -"How would you describe the quality of your company's product?" -their answer- "More room for ewproveme" which mother and I both agree with. LOL. Ahhh the joy's of government education!
Having found other similar and amusing interpretations of our language I had topped the hill and was headed for home when little man ( aka Yuchie babe) walked up. I gave him a pat and a smile and then returned to my work. The next minute I was staring into a dark and empty screen. I looked back at Yerik who was proudly standing by admiring his newest accomplishment; the discovery of the power switch to the computer. Resisting the urge of a good shaking, I sent him on his way with a swat and reprimand for 'touching without asking' and started again upon the survey. Having passed all of the previous misspellings and such, I was almost through when I came to a word which I could not remember the correct spelling. I asked Mom and her not knowing the answer said "Oh just try and type the word, then hit f7; Spell check" Innocently admiring my mothers great derth of knowledge I hit f7. The computer then flashed and I was back to the beginning with all of my work lost. I sat staring blankly and decided that a water break was in order.
3o min later I returned, this time Daddy my office companion and sat down to try and finish my task, I was getting along well when out of the blue a large box containing electrical wires, gizmos, and gadgets fell from the top of the computer desk shelf landing right smack on top of my head. LOL. An hour and 2 Aspirins later I finished that one survey only to turn and see laying on the desk, 5 more..........
