Father Daughter Retreat 2007

Friday morning a couple of weeks ago found Daddy, Beth and I, and Mr. Mark Pethtel and Melissa, off to Callaway Gardens for Vision Forums Father Daughter Retreat!

The Lord blessed the weekend and we had such a delightful time just enjoying Daddy, and fellowshipping with the many other precious fathers and daughters, who had come from all over the states to hear the inspired teaching, and visit with likeminded believers.

Unfortunately, the Smith camera was Out Of Order.
But thanks to Katie's precious Grandparents who gave Alan and Katie a camera, and Alan and Katie who agreed to let us use the camera, and Master Morton who later fixed the camera, we did manage to get a few pix, mostly of the sunday after the retreat.
`
Miss Abbi Sanders also very kindly let us use some of the pictures she took over the weekend!

Contingents from the Morton, Smith and Pethtel families, feasting at a mexican restaurant before the activities began Friday afternoon.
~ Miss Abbi Sanders was so gracious to send us the next few pictures from the retreat.
Thank you so much Abbi! ~

In which Daddy teaches Beth and I the art of croquet.

Aaaaaaaannnnnddd JUMP!

Chatting with the Carpenters after the games.

The gallant knight and his lovely bride gaze off into the sunset as it sinks yet farther in the western sky... Okay, a little corny but hey, I did try.

After High Tea on Saturday

Miss Beth, posing for me, despite many moanings of "Oh come on Peach, this is so cheesy" and the like;)
And yet I am unmoved.

Sarah and Mr. Tom, (with his fascinating hat).

Samuel, playing us a quick tune on the harp, amidst Thomas' delight (or amusement, I can't tell which,) before we headed off to dinner before the last session.

The observed.

The observing. (Or sleeping, lol)

We didn't want to do the same old ~ "Beth and Daddy, how sweet" ~ so we tried to come up with something else. So we thought maybe we should do a movie copy, but we couldn't come up with one...so we thought some more, and tossed around alot of uncatchy phrases... and finally gave up so here it is:
...
Beth and Daddy, how precious. - Creative right? ;)

Mr. Mark and his lovely Melissa. It was so much fun to have them with us over the weekend!

A very lousy picture of the last session, but hey, I'll take (or give in this case) what I can get;)

The amused onlookers.

Sunday

Sunday afternoon a few families joined us at the house for church, fellowship, ice cream and pizza, and a barn dance accompanied by the traditional drizzle. - Can anyone remember a single time we had a dance in the barn here and it didn't rain? - We enjoyed it immensely though.
Here are some of the precious girls in the kitchen having some ice cream.
Katie, Anna, Elizabeth, Emily S, Melissa, Dorothy, Emily, and Rose.

"Witty, charming, graceful. The perfect hostess."
